India-based tour operator Cox & Kings has included on its list of top five destinations to visit in 2017.
The travel group, which is known in the industry for its predictions about travel trends, had dropped Iran from its Middle East itinerary in 2011 but reintroduced it in 2015. Iran was reportedly one of the operator’s most popular destinations.
This is good news for Iran for a couple of reasons. India is one of Iran’s target markets, so being included in the group’s Mideast package will no doubt help improve Iran’s profile in India, especially given the Cox & Kings’ reputation for luxury tours. Furthermore, the operator has subsidiaries all over the world, from Singapore and Australia to Canada and the US. Should Iran regain its position as a popular destination, the group might have its subsidiaries introduce the country in their own Middle East tours.
