Iran’s tourism authorities have a new female chief, in the form of Zahra Ahamdipour, which will make the third female cabinet member of Rouhani’s cabinet in his current term.
In the latest twist to the current line-up of cabinet members, Ahmadipour takes the reigns from former tourism chief, Masoud Solatanifar who has now headed for another position.

Following Soltanifar’s departure to the sports ministry Ahmadipour, who has never held a tourism post before, will be in charge of the country’s re-emergence in tourism. Ahmadipour is an assistant professor in geography at Tarbiat Modares University, so she will have some understanding the the current needs of the country.
